[glow=green,2,800]The thief took her time taking Jafar towards the third chamber, grumbling under her breath and glancing at the tall vizer every now and then in question, "I heard you died..." she grinned, teasing, "... a lot, Jim. Just remember to stay out of me and/or Queeny's way, and we won't be adding to the list, Kay? Goodnight~" she sang eerily.
Shego took Jafar to the chamber, showed him in, and shut the door, pondering a little as she walked the hallway with the new scepter, "Now, let's see...." she thought out loud, looking to the shadows, where she was certain Cuddles was watching, and grinned, "If I was an ex-apprentice....where would I be...? Any suggestions, buddy?" [/glow]

The little diamond-scarred heartless dropped from the seeming nothing and onto the woman's shoulder, his googly yellow eyes looking to her curiously as he churred softly into her ear. It would have blinked at her... but no eyelids. He merely looked at her, then sniffed at the air a bit, looking around the blank hall...
Books... would echo in Shego's heart. Cuddles was clearly on to something, sitting up on his hind legs on her shoulder to sniff at the air, his antennae buzzing about as though scanning radio frequencies.
Books... wizard...

[glow=green,2,800]"Books...and wizards?" Shego repeated, resting a hand on her hip, to lean to her side, looking to her friend with a raised eyebrow, "What chu' talkin' about, Cuddles?"
She waved the scepter around a little, never having weild one before. She was more a 'hands on' type of girl anyway, so she was trying to get used to it, "I think Queeny is the only witch I know..." she pondered, " Hades is a God, Kefka is.... a nut case, are you saying there is someone ELSE that knows magic, a goodie maybe?"[/glow]

Cuddles looked to the woman, then looked off suddenly. He leapt off her shoulder and landed nearby, looking over his shoulder to her. He then started to skittle down the hallway, stopping periodically to glance behind and check on her.
He was leading her somewhere... It wouldn't take long before he took her to the library, a massive, multi-layered place with more books than any mortal could read in a thousand lifetimes. Apparently, Maleficent was well versed. The little heartles would slither across the ground, then up the multiple layers of books before pulling just ONE out from near the top. He struggled, of course, because the thing was nearly twice his size, but when he freed the tome, it toppled down down down to the ground and opened wide...
...on the first page of the legend of King Arthur.

[glow=green,2,800]The thief continued to follow the small creature toward the library, and stopped at a mess of books, when Cuddles seemed busy with one. She thought it was cute, and watched him as he toppled one of the books.
Shego looked down, an eyebrow raised and knelt to look at the title clearly, "... Alexander the great... books...wizards..." she blinked, looking to Cuddles with a grin, "What, are ya' saying they are with Merlin or something? So, back to the underworld, or? I mean, the geezer must be DEAD by now, right?"[/glow]

"Hardly..." echoed a voice in the Library. Its owner wasn't easy to spot at first, but Atticus was there... behind the large mahogany desk piled high with scrolls and books of various kinds, his back to them as he stared out a window into the vast emptiness of the World that Never Was, eyes raised in admiration to the shattered replica of Kingdom Hearts hanging like a corpse in the sky...
"Read further..." Atticus whispered, his head only VERY slightly turned in their direction. On the book, it would elaborate that Wizards, because their blood is so saturated with Ether, could live unnaturally long lives. Merlin, in particular, is known for his philanthropist work in Traverse Town, Olde England, and Radiant Garden...
Atticus looked up to the sky again, watching that broken heart-shaped moon like one in a trance. "Destroy a man's work... and you destroy him, hm...?"

[glow=green,2,800]Shego sat on the floor, and held the book up to read it, apparently there was a whole section of the man. His history and life, along with his strengths, and his weaknesses. She grinned a little, turning the page to see if there was more, but closing it.
"Huh, well I'll be." Shego whispered, amused that someone could live that long, " I better get going then... it says that he has a residence at Hollow Bastion, known now as Radiant Garden, and according to Cuddles, I can find the ex-apprentice there. Right, Cuddles?"
Shego closed the book, and placed it aside, awaiting for Cuddles to step closer, so as for them to leave together.
"Oh, and Atticus.." Shego mentioned, though a little late, "Stop... DOING that!!"

The Dark Wizard nodded, hearing the familiar rush of a corridor opening and the satisfying sound of a heart making use of it. Cuddles would follow close behind, but He would stay put, watching the moon with baited interest. "You do that..." he whispered to no one in particular.
He had other things to attend to. If Maleficent needed his assistance, he would give it, but she would have to ask for it when the time came. He could sense that he needed to be somewhere now... A place Maleficent herself had destroyed to prove the "loyalty" of her ex-apprentice. Ironic, then, that she ran off on her own anyway after such an expression... That didn't mean that they wouldn't go there again anyway... to see for themselves... That aside, he needed to look about the wreckage.
There could be something VERY important there...
Opening a corridor, Atticus stepped forward and upward to his waiting flagship... The Harbinger...

Post by Acteur de la Noir on May 28, 2010 22:32:14 GMT -5
Previous events:
The puppetmaster known as Acteur de la Noir was many things. Sometimes, he was flighty and whimsical, practically dancing about as he chatted it up with everyone in sight. Other times, he could be vindictive, as he had been when bringing his native world to ruin. And other times, he could a silent observer...bizzarre as that might seem for one as outlandish in appearance as he. And yet, silent he could be--quietly taking in the unfolding drama, contemplating how to spin it to his advantage in the next act.
Such as Acteur's attitude when Atticus and Maleficent addressed him--taking in their respective commands in silence, with a proper response to both. To the Heartless Mage, he gave a theatrical salute and a bow. To the Mistress of All Evil, the well-dressed Heartless bowed in apology, lowering his head and spreading his palms in a silent concession to her ire. All the while, he listened, letting himself follow the currents of events which unfolded around him--the matter of Jafar's return; the quiet musings of Shego; the cajoling presence of "Cuddles." To it all, Acteur was a silent witness, the audience to these various plots as they began to take form.
And then he was gone in a sweep of his cloak, its tattered hem flapping in the cold, musty air as the Heartless puppeteer left to do the bidding of his brethern, and she who styled herself as their queen.
The present:
As he strode through one of the castle's ominous hallways, making subtle motions to assemble the cast and resources he would need for his upcoming performance, Acteur de la Noir let out a thoughtful hum as he looked at the ceiling. Behind his mask, yellow eyes glowed with interest.
"A wayward heart to be brought back into the fold...another to be seduced into our order, the remaining flickers of her emerald light to be inevitably swallowed by the dark...and, of course, one who would be queen of us all." A pause, and Acteur let out a gleeful chuckle. "Oh, what an exciting performance awaits..."
With those words, an arm extended from the shroud of the Heartless puppeteer's cape; gloved fingers snapping briskly. As if on cue, a whirling vortex of darkness--penumbral blackness, streaked with dusky purple--materialized in the hallway ahead of him. Without breaking stride, Acteur de la Noir walked into the Dark Passageway...and, as he vanished into its depths, a contingent of shadows seemed to detach from the walls and follow him.
Sometimes, he could be tardy in stepping on stage...but Acteur de la Noir did his best to make the performance worth the time.

[glow=green,2,800]** From the Silent Ballroom **
Shego walked along the long, solitary hallway, listening as her pace echoed throughout the darkness, giving off her location. She had a dull expression as she ventured further, for some reason, to Maleficent's chambers. Her raven-black hair would be covering an eye as it trailed forward and back with each step. The flowing green-tainted-transparent fabric drifting with every movement of her hips.
She would stop in front of the third chamber door, closest to Maleficent's abode, and starred at it. Jafar, the Vizier was inside, resting, and gaining his strength back after his long trip from "Soul City," yet she knew nothing of him, other of his many failings of staying alive before this. She shrugged and continued to walk, pondering again on that psycho clown Kefka. He was obviously unstable, and could jeopardize many things, including safety....
... now there was Beatrix, the goodie-turned-bad. What to do with her? Put aside differences? I mean, Queeny already told her she was number one. Something about Chuckles irked her, yet she couldn't put her finger on it. "Whatevs." mumbled the thief aloud. Reaching her destination and knocking on the door, opening it afterward, "Queeny, you here?"[/glow]

*From the Silent Ballroom, in The World that Never Was*
[glow=Purple,2,300]Maleficent sat in the center of her chamber, seated in a black throne manifested out of pure darkness, stroaking the head-to-back of her raven Diablo. She stared intently at her mirror, her sceptre leaning up against the side. The candles were all out, so the only light in the room came from the sceptre's green glow and the irredescant shine of the magic mirror.
Maleficent looked glum, tired and very anxious, all at the same time. However, when she heard a voice beyond the door she straightened up, and tilte her head slightly, her eyes never leaving the reflective glass.
"You may enter at your own risk, Shego," said the queen, her petting of the raven quickening and rising in pressure on the creature's back. A short cry of annoyance was enough to cause Maleficent to ease down, but the eagerness was still there.
"You are very nearly late," she said, her eyes following something around within the image.[/glow]

[glow=green,2,800]"Late?" The thief blinked, walking a few paces closer into the dark chambers of the queen. Her eyes would continue to examine the dark one's form, from headdress to robes, and the soft outline of Maleficen's face as the dim, green glow of her Faerie's Wrath illuminated it, "Did you call for me...?"
She stayed there, in the middle of the chambers, right behind the Ruler, a gloved hand resting upon her curvy hips while the other dangled freely against her side. The woman was not frightened, nor calm around the focused Mistress. Her ears would tingle whenever Diablo, the dark bird Malefy cared for so deeply, made a screeching sound, but she would not complain.
Shego felt she needed to be here... in this dark room... with her.[/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]"I did not call for you," she stated, still caressing the neat feathers of her black bird. "Though I assumed you would be back groveling for forgiveness. But no matter; I've got something special for you, anyway."
She grinned, and snapped her fingers. Behind the mirror, over more to the north end of the chamber, a figure, bound and gagged, draped in the darkness appeared, flailing about while chained down.
"You, yourself said you wanted to be the one to take out your adversary Kim Possible, yes?"
"Here now lies your chance. Call forth your sceptre, Shego, and get rid of her. Prove your loyalties to me, for Miss Possible has foiled plans of mine in Middleton for the last time."[/glow]

[glow=green,2,800]Shego's eyes traveled to where the woman had motioned, and nearly choked as she recognized the outline of her adversary.
".... Princess.......?" She gasped, turning to face the gagged hero, feeling numb all over by the way she was being held. She walked forward, tuning out Maleficent's orders to reach up a moment, before backing her hand away. She growled a little, and turned to face Maleficent, "What is this, Queeny!? Why is she like this??"
The villainies quivered all over her hands balling into fists, it took her ALL not to lit them on green fire, "She belongs back at Middleton so I can take care of her PERSONALLY...there! I don't need help in capturing her, and I'd like to get rid of her on my own time." she paused, "Besides... I don't have the scepter. I'm using it as--" she paused, shaking her head a moment, "I'll just say it is in good hands-- but, come on, Queeny- send her back home. We have much bigger things to deal with."[/glow]

[glow=Purple,2,300]"I have tried waiting, Shego, but you test my patience. Right now I am still unsure where your loyalties lie...but by forcing you into doing something this big, it truly is an honor. It means that you have earned my...love, of sorts, and respect. Destroy Miss Possible, and then we may continue with our plans."
Maleficent stood from her throne and walked beyond the mirror, colecting Faeries' Wrath as she passed. She stepped up beside Shego and Kim Possible, and used the blunt end of her sceptre to push Kimmy's face upward, to stare into the witch's eyes.
"Greetings."[/glow]
