Somewhere within the lion's den, a twisted anomaly ravaged the local space-time continuum, opening a portal from which one could instantly travel without having to worry about those troublesome Laws of Physics. Its maker, a being equally bereft of these physical laws, promptly stepped through, smirking like a bloody fiend before closing the portal behind him. With graceful strides it stepped towards a rather large door in the middle of the hallway. It had left a portion of itself behind earlier so the being could observe the entire castle even though it was away doing battle.
The private chambers of a certain sorceress was one amongst many things it had found.
"Excuse me, Lady MeadowSong?" Arthur inquired as he knocked, "I thought you'd like to hear one of the intruders has been taken of by yours truly! It was quite the spectacular sight if I do say so myself. Not to mention the mess!"
Waiting for an answer, the cleverly disguised eldritch abomination whistled a merry tune as it leaned on its cane.

[glow=Purple,2,300]Several silent moments would pass after such interesting news. However, after some time the queen's large set of black double doors would swing inward, revealing an even darker black than that painted on the wood.
At the center of this abyss was a faint green glow, and a secondary reflecting off the surface of a tall standing mirror. In the distance beside it even more reflections came off the enormous Eldritch Machine bathed in shadows.
Sitting before the mirror is where the Heartless queen sat, staring intently into her mirror, watching events unfold over in Sherwood.
"Come in," she said. "And please, show me these...guests."[/glow]

Arthur could not refuse such gracious an offer, and with the same unnatural grace as before he stepped into the room, twirling his cane ridiculously fast. Two tendrils of darkness emerged from his spine, each grabbing a door handle before pulling the contraption closed. If it wasn't dark enough before, it sure as heck was now. Not that this mattered to the two beings which revelled in the absence of light.
"Well my Lady," the gentleman began, "there really isn't much left of him to show you. My Other devoured him and left no trace. I apologise if this was not the intent of your command, she can be rather impulsive from time to time."
He honestly felt sorry for not being able to bring any live prisoners, but not all hope was lost.
"I can show you what he looked like though!"
His lower body dissolved into a pulsating mass of black smoke, which quickly spread across the immediate area. Roughly five feet away, it began to expand vertically, slowly taking a humanoid shape. Then there he stood, HardeWare in the flesh, with pale skin and empty eye sockets. Arthur grabbed the undead Super by the collar and lifted him for all to see.
"Recognise the fellow?"

[glow=purple,2,300]"...unfortunately, no, I do not know of this creature, but I am somewhat positive I may have seen him at some point during the events of that silly opera."
The queen chuckled dryly.
"In any event, at least you took care of our visitors. I have a feeling more will be coming, though, and I'd like the residents of the castle to be prepared. In fact, I'm sure more will come, as none can trust the uncertainty of shipworthiness." She spoke of the Harbinger, and her personal beliefs on the frailty of non-sentient machines.
"I'd rather they come face us personally, as things will get done faster. You will guarantee my survival should they overwhelm us."[/glow]

(OoC: Apologies for my tardiness, writer's block killed my muse.)
"Oh really now?" he chuckled as HardeWare's body was reduced to dark matter. By this point the substance covered most of the floor and several small tendrils could be seen trying to scale the walls, "pardon my manners, but I believe the concept of 'Quid Pro Quo' is still in order."
Darkness gathered in his open palm, which he transformed into a small document by snapping his fingers.
"Quid pro quo..." he repeated ominously, with a grin threatening to split his face in two.

"Quid pro quo..."
[glow=Purple,2,300]Cornelius' last hissing words lingered around in the thick, dank air of Naught Castle, and MeadowSong in all her dark, menacing beauty, brought a reflective index finger up to massage her lips in contemplation. Her eyes were no longer directed at the beauracrat, but instead on the black, endless void above that had replaced Radiant Kingdom Hearts.
When at last the First Black Faerie turned back to him she gave him a look that seemed to convey that she'd forgotten he was there. It took several moments for her to come back to the real world.
"A-uh...ahem. Please, you must excuse me. I was...I was distracted. Ahem. Anyway, allow me to see this document you've brought forth. I've heard of you, Tweedlebottom, and I know you're quite the shifty one."
She hovered closer to the Heartless and snatched the forms, glaring down at them with the calm, concentrated eyes of a patient queen.
"What are your terms, Cornelius?"[/glow]

[glow=black,2,300]Awkward situations, that was something Arthur had never experienced before. But he couldn't help but giggle inwardly as he stood there, holding out his Contract in an overly dramatic fashion, while Lady MaedowSong was just dozing off at the sight of the black abyss where Kingdom Hearts once shone. After some time she recovered and snatched the Contract out of his hand.
"Oh? So you have heard from me you say? Might I inquire through which source?" he asked, adjusting his monocle. A slight hint of annoyance adorned his voice as he resumed: "And for future reference, my surname is - in fact - Tweedbottom, not Tweedle. I'm quite attached to the name, you see."
While the Lady read the contents of his Contract, Arthur summoned himself a chair and a desk for the sole reason of being able to clasp his hands menacingly once the conversation picked up again. And because it was much easier to write on, obviously.
"Terms? They should be noted on the Contract, but now you mention it, they are far more fun to announce out loud."
The quirky gentleman rose from his seat.
"My terms are simple, and perhaps to your liking. For by signing this Contract, I will become your loyal and personal servant. All of your wishes will be mine to take care of. But on one condition: should you die, your Heart will be mine to take."
As the last words left his mouth, the eldritch creature summoned a quill and offered it to it's possible future master.
"Well then, milady, what say you?"[/glow]

"My terms are simple, and perhaps to your liking. For by signing this Contract, I will become your loyal and personal servant. All of your wishes will be mine to take care of. But on one condition: should you die, your Heart will be mine to take."
[glow=Purple,2,300]MeadowSong mulled this next set over in her head a couple times and glanced back at the contract, to read exactly what he'd said once more. In the past--before she was reborn as a Heartless--it would have been simple to have Diablo do her bidding in resurrecting her; now, if she died here...before her Nobody was taken down, she would resume life once more as Maleficent. Why would the Black Queen need this contract? It had never been so difficult to get a good servant in the past...all she had to do was subjugate them to do her bidding.
However, she did see the horrible fate of the Super prior to this...perhaps he would make a good jester to gawk and chuckle at while she prepared for the Warriors of Light. But what would it mean to lose her heart to such a devious creature?
She hovered over to his desk and set down the contract, collecting the quill in its place. She stared down at the delicate penmanship for a brief time before glancing into the gentleman's eyes once more.
"What do you gain by taking my heart, Cornelius?"[/glow]

[glow=black,2,300] Arthur had taken up the whistling of a merry tune as he waited. Lungs were such odd things to have, but he couldn't help but marvel the human anatomy, how it was structured for a variety of tasks he could do with but a thought. Yet it was so fragile, remove a piece and they are maimed forever or even killed! So boring. Oh shoot, he was zoning off again. Fortunately his trance was broken by the good Lady.
"What I would gain you ask? But Milady, you've got me all wrong! I'm merely a collector of sorts. You'd surely have no use for your Heart after you perish, do you?"
Perhaps he should've made the proposition while she was in a more desperate state of mind. Ah well. [/glow]

[glow=Purple,2,300]"I see, so you are a collector."
She turned to face the darkness, left to ponder her choice one final time. If she were to be murdered by the Warriors of Light with their new toys, no doubt she would be sent to Kingdom Hearts high above and used as an energy source until her Nobody expired. However, there was that other matter: what if Malora--her Nobody--happened to perish first? That would be an utter disaster to the Black Queen's great plans. No merging option would be available whatsoever, then.
"If I allow you to safeguard my heart when I expire--if I expire--then that means you would be assuring my reemergence at a later date and securing my eternal reign as Mistress of Darkness. No doubt I'd be returned as a Heartless should my plan be foiled, but that is alright. I'm very happy with this new life; returning to that old shell that was me does not sound very promising whatsoever. Merging would be terrible..."
When she had finished musing aloud she turned back to Tweedbottom and bent to sign the contract of his.
After she finished, she grinned. "You now hold province over my heart on the date that I expire...and with how things look right now, you may not have to wait too long, my friend...but remember, I am no tame stray."[/glow]

[glow=black,2,300] Arthur's eyes took a bizarre yellow shape, the eyes of a Heartless. Or rather, the eyes of dark beings in general. His teeth as well made a metamorphosis, going from a dentist's dream to a wicked collection of misshapen fangs. His dark presence literally filled up the entire room as the Contract was signed, binding MeadowSong's Heart to his essence. Content with recent developments, he gave her an ominously slow golf clap.
"Good, GOOD! We have a deal then! Hahaha!"
This was utterly marvelous, he had never made such a great catch before. Darkness would soon have a new sovereign to worship, although he would have to think of a new name for that occasion. Tweedbottom had been fun until now, but it wouldn't do for a Lord of Darkness. No no, he needed something more... intimidating.
He ceased his pondering, that could wait until later. Instead, he brought his appearance back to what most would consider normal, and knelt in front of his new mistress.
"Your wish is my command, Milady."
Or rather, your command is my wish, hohoho. I will break her like a twig. [/glow]

[glow=Purple,2,300]MeadowSong simply grinned at Tweedbottom's sudden surge of arrogance. "Hmph. You may stay here for now and guard this chamber; It would appear I have certain matters that need tending to."
She motioned with the creature towards the mirror that stood by her lonely throne and waved Faeries' Wrath before it.
"As you can see my instincts were right in not launching an assault of my own, for the Warriors of Light would be victorious in Atticus' first play. The pawns are dying off slowly, but I am the queen of this board...I refuse to fall, but also refuse to have no challenge."
The Faerie Queen Heartless opened a Corridor by her side, again one fashioned like a blooming blood rose, and stepped through.
"And if I seek a challenge, I must allow them to resurrect their queen."
MeadowSong gave Tweedbottom one last glance before stepping through the rift to aid the Red Rose.[/glow]

[glow=black,2,300] "It shall be done, Milady."
He gave her a court bow as she disapeared, briefly contemplating whether he'd send a small part of him with her to observe, but eventually deciding against it. After all, where would be the fun in that? The outcome was set anyway, might as well up the suspense a bit. Once his Mistress had left the room through her personal space/time anomaly, Arthur fell into the chair he had summoned earlier.
He planted his crossed legs on the desk before him, and began 'writing' words into the air with his index finger, literally drawing lines of gray smoke.
"Headhunter? No. Devourer of Hearts? Too vicious. Lord Bane? Oh please."
He cursed his lack of imagination. And by the Dark Realm was he bored. He hated this part of the job. They never had something interesting for him to do... but perhaps the castle would have some interesting locales to explore. Yeah, he might just do that.
With a snap of his fingers, gone were the chair and desk, Arthur floating in midair as if he was still seated. One cocky smile later, his own body dematerialised as well, the metaphysical mist passing through the walls and into the hallways beyond. A small patch of smoke was left behind, serving as a sentinel should anything peculiar happen. The main mass on the other hand continued on its merry way, whistling the same tune it had whistled many times before, which now sounded very ominous as it appeared to come from everywhere at once.[/glow]

[glow=Purple,2,300]Had he stayed in place for just a couple moments longer, Sir Tweedbottom may have gotten the chance to meet and greet with the cleaning lady.
The twin double doors leading into the Queen's chamber opened silently and in strolled in what looked like an almost exact duplicate of the princess Aurora, save for the raven-black hair and dress with purple and green accents, as well as the glowing yellow where the whites of her eyes should have been. Her lips were painted black, along with her nails and on the breast of her dress was emblazoned the crest of the Nobodies.
She moved in slowly, gazing with the apathetic eye all her kind gave, and sighed the moment she spotted the cloud of dust Tweedbottom had left in the wake of his escape.
"Hm...what an odd dust cloud," she spoke aloud, if only to relieve the room of silence. "Mistress did not inform me at all that she was cooking up living spells this afternoon."
An instant later she began a brisk stride towards the dusty plume and conjured a hand vacuum from out of thin air and clicked it onward.
"This would be most bothersome if I cared," she remarked to the dust. "but a maid is a maid, and I shall serve the Mistress as best as I am able."[/glow]
