Terra continued to walk as Edgar spoke to her, and if any one was watching her it would look at if was mumbling to her self while rubbing her hands together. The Guards walked along the road surrounding Edgar and her. but not in between them
Suddenly Terra's shackle's fell off her wrists and landed on the ground with a loud clattering of chains. still looking as if she was mumbling she lunged to Edgar, grabbing his shirt , she pulled him close. "Father sky grant me your blessings, may the wind be both my friend and my enemy." she said loudly "TORNADO" She called out, raising her free hand to the sky.
The ground around Terra and Edgar produced a circle of air that started to spin , then grow larger, and spin faster till there was a raging funnel of air surrounding them, and spreading out, engulfing the solders that were surrounding them. The Guard were so alarm and with nothing to hold onto, took the whole force of the spell, being sent flying off the road. Some flew only a short distance but hit hard , others were just sent flying, but the same was done for all of them , they were unconscious and no longer a threat.
Terra release Edgar's shirt as the air died down,breathing heavily, she forgot that one hurt her as well, she walked over to the nearest guard plucking off of him the keys to the cuffs. She walked over to Edgar and undid his shackle noticing the look on his face "What, ..... i learned a couple things from Locke you know." she said as she looked up and down the road. "Ok Edgar , now what?"

Garland stood there a moment, regarding the swirling black. Inside his heart... something was moving. He didn't understand it yet... but this was the seed of something so dark, so evil, that it would transcend time itself... and had transcended time many millions of cycles past, and many more to come.
"Interesting..." was all he'd say before stepping forward and walking through...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Meanwhile, the soldiers were struggling to get back to their feet. One of them woudl grumble a bit. "I thought this guy was some kind of king... why's he acting like a fugtive...?" he'd grumble.
"Who cares, Wedge! We just gotta get them to the castle, that's all!" said another, grabbing his bow before drawing an arrow. "Go high!" he said, firing at Edgar, who had his back to him.
"I'll go low, Biggs!" said the other, grabbing up a bow and shooting lower, the two arrows having been fired nearly at the same time, and carrying a net between them, the intent to capture both so they could simply be dragged to Cornelia Castle.
Once freed, Edgar rubbed at his wrists and turned to the two waking soldiers who seemed to be quick on their feet. "Damn," he said simply, twirling his arms together for a moment, his gauntlets glowing a fiery red. He began chanting, and then extended one hand, directing it onto the two soldiers.
"Smoldering flames far below, punish the wicked! Firaja!" he cried, and suddenly the field erupted in a burning hell, blue flames licking around the soldiers and hailstorms of fireballs and pillars hurtling downward onto their armored bodies.
The armor... did little to help them. The fire came raining down, and they were caught in the middle of it. Nowhere to dodge, nowhere to run, so they just took the damage. It hurt, like heck, and they did get knocked out, sent sprawling onto the ground like the others (only with the addition of their armor glowing a blazing hot red around them, which forced them to stay perfectly still for fear of trouching the metal).
"Owww..." Biggs moaned, laying on his back. "Okay... you guys win... but what're you gonna do now??"
"Yeah..." Wedge muttered, laying on his front in the opposite direction. "I mean... we were taking you to the castle so the King could figure out what to do with you, and if we don't show up in a few more hours here, they're gonna send more soldiers to look for us!" they both groaned a bit, the other soldiers seeming knocked out for the count...
Edgar approached the fallen soldiers with his hands resting on either hip, and he stared down at them like a scolding parent. He brought up one hand and crunched it into a fist, leaving only his index finger extended. He waved it in a "tisk tisk" manner.
"Now, now. I am not from this place," he started, and began circling his foes. "I will be taking my leave from here very soon, along with my friend here. You may do whatever you like once this is accomplished. We must seek out that woman who apparently left with your master."
He stopped in his tracks and pointed at the soldiers, ordering Terra to watch over them as he backtracked and went to collect his spear.
Terran nodded at Edgar letting him leave, slowly she made her way over to the fallen solders "Bicks and Wedge was it?" she asked between huffs, obviously using magic after it had been lost for a bit took it's toll. "worry not" she said between huffs "We're not after your lives." her eyes drooping a little more after each word "we're just as lost as you ... guys .... are ... confused......." she finished before falling to her knees.
Staring at the ground while on her hands and knees, she raised one hand to her head covering her forehead. "Too much , too soon"she said before falling over into the dirt, breathing heavily, sending dust off with each breath. She looked at the two solders starting to move now that their armor was cooling down and tried to push herself up, but instead found herself giving way to her weariness and succumbed to unconsciousness.
Biggs and Wedge slowly got up, their armor getting cooler as they did, yet was still scaulding hot. "Ow ow ow ow!!" Biggs would call out, standing up and flailing slightly as he had allowed his helmet to slip and hit his cheek. "Great Cosmos that hurts!!!"
"There's a lake right over there!" Wedge pointed out, which prompted Biggs to go running and leap right in. A great steaming hiss later, the man stood up and walked over, sighing in great releif while his friend moved to do the same.
"Much better..." Biggs muttered, then looked down at Terra. "Ouch... guess she spent up her MP..." he looked over to Wedge as he approached. "What do we do now?"
"Guess we keep doing what Sir Garland asked us to do before he took off... HEY! YOU! GET UP!" Wedge said, kicking a downed archer to rouse him. Within moments, the entire entourage was back on its feet and looking at the unconscious girl. "It won't do to just drag her along..." Wedge noted, then pointed to a few men. "See if you can make a stretcher or something from those branches over there."
As the men ran off, Biggs looked back where Edgar had run off to. "Think we should go after him? I mean... we were told to bring both to the castle for trial..."
"Nah. That guy's an obvious cornball. If we get her moved quick enough, sure as the fiends, he'll follow us on his own. Why carry two when we only gotta carry one, right?" Wedge responded, giving a smile and a thumbs up while the men hurriedly put together a carrier for Terra. They carefully moved her over and began marching again. Hopefully, this time, there wouldn't be such a fuss...
The king arrived back in time to see the soldiers marching off in the distance, and he slammed Longinus down with a growl, his eyes glaring daggers at the men. Damn those lowly swine! he thought, ripping the spear from the ground and running after the men in hot pursuit.
"By the way of angels, make me swift on my feet, Float!" he called while running, his body lifting several feet off the ground. He was now skybound, runing through the air like steps, of course to a maximum height of ten feet, but that would be enough.
He followed fast, even diving through the air at certain points, sure that this would be faster, only to get back up and run, then dive and slide again and again. Soon he was only yards behind the Knights of Cornelia and he called out:
"Lackeys are but the bane of their masters' existences!" he cried, raising his spear high, and calling out a subtle cry of sorcery. The next thing these soldiers would hear would be "Thundaja!" before a barrage of lightning-based power attacks were summoned to the field to take down Edgar's foes.
The soldiers would feel the static before lightning would begin to pour down. This gave them about two seconds before hell would break lose. It would be Biggs who figured it out first, by seeing the helmet-less Wedge nearby with his hair standing on end. "Oh, Cosmos..." he muttered, then called out. "PROTECT THE GIRL!"
Wedge blinked, then quickly threw his helmet on and leapt over Terra, just in time for a lightning bolt to come cascading down through the sky and striking him in the back. Because he had braced himself, rather than laying directly on top of her, he directed the electricity away from the girl and into the ground. The downside was that this made him a perfect conductor and well grounded. A number would pop over him as the attack made contact. 385. More than enough to put him out again.
"WEDGE!" Biggs called, then growled, turning on the spot and pulling out his sword. Other soldiers had been hit, leaving only Biggs and two others, an archer and swordsman respectively. "You PSYCHOPATH!" the soldier yelled, gripping his sword and running forward. "We were taking her to medical help! What's WRONG with you??" he yelled, swiping at Edgar as he approached.
No idea if it hit, but Biggs would immediately leap back to where he started, gripping his blade in one hand and waving for the other two to attack. The Archer pulled his bow and fired, followed by the swordsman mirroring Biggs' tactic.
When Edgar's attack struck home he dove down, taking a blade slice across his unarmored side before falling to the ground. He seethed, and glanced over to the soldier barking at him and clambored to his feet, using Longinus to support him. He shook his head and spat at the ground, and directed his index finger straight at the man in question.
"You are barking mad if I am to believe that! You are going to take her away to the farthest reaches of this hell you so dearly protect! How dare swine like you even think to abduct someone you've yet to understand. Terribly lucky she isn't awake right now, I'm afraid...unfortunate."
He limped forward, and chuckled. "I, however, am not, and can take care of healing her myself. You still alive will leave her here with me and retreat, so that I may take her back to Figaro and get her the help she needs; then I must find the woman from before, as she may need our assistance."
"Are you BLIND?!" Biggs roared at the man, barely able to hold his sword up to keep Edgar back while simultaneously preventing his fellows from going after him. He was breathing hard from two simultaneous butt-kickings, but he still held his ground. "Is your heart so blackened that you can't see we're NOT your enemies here? I mean- Just look what you did to Wedge!"
He jerked his head to the side, indicating the soldier now sprawled on the ground with a smoking crater in his back from when he threw himself in front of Terra. "That man protected that girl, whom he doesn't even KNOW, from YOUR attack! If he hadn't, who knows what kind of state she'd be in now!" he growled a bit, then let out a grunt of pain as the tip of his sword hit the ground.
"And you're obviously in need of medical assistance too! So, what's it going to be? Are you going to keep attacking us like some kind of barbarian... or are you going to do the civilized thing and just follow us?"
Edgar sighed once and sat down on the ground, his whole body shaking and Longinus falling from his grip. He grabbed onto his head and breathed in and out hard for several moments, feeling a rush of exhaustion running through his bloodstream; another sense was complete blackness. He coughed.
"Take me away," he said. "I will cure your allies, as well..."
Biggs sighed in relief, then waved for the guards to help Edgar up. They didn't do so in a harsh way, more like comrads helping a fellow up to his feet. They threw his arms over their shoulders so that he could walk with them aiding to support his weight. Wedge, unfortunately, would have to ride with Terra on the stretcher, so it took double-duty to carry them.
Biggs shook his head a bit, leading the procession. He looked tired, and worn out, but if there was something to be gained from this... it was that these were NOT the bad guys. They were just soldiers doing their job for a king they believed in, and under the command of a captain they looked up to. It wouldn't take very long to reach the castle now that there wasn't any opposition...
Terra, Wedge, and Edgar would be taken down to the medical area, not far from where Garland's room was. Biggs would collapse against the wall, sighing and taking in a moment to rest. "Make sure they're well cared for..." he muttered, nodding to some white mages that were on duty. They strode forward and began to heal the adventurers, while Biggs drifted to sleep...
