Name: Orestes, the Lost One
Species: Heartless
Allegiance: Darkness
Gender: Male
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 195 lbs
Fight Style: Earth-moving, martial arts.
Description: Orestes was once human, but not any more...A head of brown hair covers his crown, falling to just above his eyes. Slightly spiked, it resembles living rock itself. His eyes, once a fierce shade of cerulean blue, now burn with an icy fire...literally. Whisps and whirls of flame engulf the empty sockets that once housed his vision. Broad, muscular shoulders end in slender fingers that curl instinctively towards his sides. A muscular torso thins slightly as it reaches his midriff, toned legs showcasing speed and running ability. His mouth is almost always twisted into a cruel sneer, and his entire body glows and vibrates with a sinuous, shadowy power.
History: Orestes was once a victim of Hojo's cruelty, having vicious and inhumane experiments performed upon him, all for the purpose of furthering Hojo's notes and theorems. Having materia surgically spliced with his DNA allowed radical mutations, giving Orestes incredible speed, strength, analytical capabilities and the ability to move any aspect of earth. It also left him horribly damaged, however. His mind, unable to take the stress of all of the pain and suffering that he had endured at the hands of Hojo, literally strained itself to the breaking point.
Delusions of grandeur, extreme competitiveness, and an insane lust for power drove Orestes mad, unleashing his powers in a brutal massacre of SOLDIER and scientist alike that attempted to stop him from escaping. Upon leaving Midgar, he was battled by heartless soldiers, escaping from the slums only to run into his greatest adversary yet...The Leviathan. The great snake, bane of warrior and bounty hunter alike, proved to be a formiddable opponent, but eventually succumbed to Orestes' raw strength and combat prowess. Atop the defeated animal stood another horror, however...Atticus, the Fallen.
Pledging to Orestes to give him power beyond his wildest dreams, Orestes agreed hastily. Power is what he wanted, craved...no. Power is what he needed. Orestes fed on the power granted to him, only to discover at the last minute that it would require a sacrifice unlike any that he had ever experienced...the willingness to give up his own flesh, essentially tear himself asunder, in order to serve his lord. As the transformation was complete, Orestes abruptly murdered his Nobody "twin", preventing conflicts in the future. At last, his powers still continuing to grow, Orestes, the Lost One, was born.
