Name: Jal Delhin
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Height: 6'
Weight: 183 lbs
Fighting Style: Martial Arts
Allegiance: Good
Appearance:
Jal is a strong looking youth, deeply tanned by his life as a nomad and journeys through the World of Ruin. He is not absurdly large for a human but decently proportioned, sporting the build of a martial artist. His body is clearly born of a taxing lifestyle and much training; callused hands, broad shoulders, flat feet, strong muscling. Though his build is somewhat out of the norm, the rest of his features are mundane at best; Dark brown hair and eyes, slightly full lips, bushy brows, and an awkward nose (more than likely its been broken several times), some freckles that were no doubt caused by his frequent exposure to the sun.
Weapon:
Often none, but will resort to fist weapons as shown to him by his master. One in particular being the Kaiser Knuckle, which Sabin gave to him at the end of his studies.
History:
During the reign of Kefka in the still freshly 'designed' World of Ruin. Life was forced to fight to make itself known. One such case was the newly orphaned Jal. Born before the destruction Jal was raised in a small nomadic village in the region of Vledt. His people survived and led simple lives before the birth of the new world. After which, the world naturally became much harsher, far more violent. The village was constantly in jeopardy. They no longer lived with the land, they simply ran from it with little hope for the future. The trained hunters, such as Jal's parents, quickly became guardsmen and slayers their skills being utilized in more... brutal fashions. No longer caring how they killed each new threat, as long as it was disposed of. But alas, nature prevails... one cold night a stampede of beasts rushed through their camp, the people desperately tried to collect what was valuable and avoid the raging creatures. Few managed this... Jal was rescued by one of the village elders and upon returning to the trampled camp, they found like remains of many of their loved ones. Though he was trained in the art of the hunt by both his father and mother, and decently skilled with bow and steel. Jal never cared for the nomadic way of life. He seized the opportunity offered by the mayhem, going about the ruined village, stealing a map, compass, bow, and provisions. Without goodbyes he set out to sate his palate... He had heard rumors and legend of a skilled warrior that had survived the destruction. He would seek out Sabin Rene Figaro, he would learn the art of the fist. Just sixteen at the birth of his journey, he struggled and fought against the harsh world and all it had to offer. Moving from ruined towns to small refugee camps gathering as much information as he could. At last he heard of Sabin's passing and quickly followed. Upon finding him, Jal was awestruck, the man was everything he had imagined. Begging and pleading with the legend to teach him the arts that were passed to him by Duncan. Sabin accepted Jal as his student and taught him all he had to offer, given his studies at the time were incomplete. Having knowledge of the Blitz Jal left Sabin to better hone and apply his skills. Forging his own path forward to the destroyed world... A new person, no longer bound by the land, finally free...
Phase 1: Blinding Flurry
Taking root from his teachings Jal rushes his opponent in an instant and unleashes a quick assault of attacks meant to disorientate the foe.
Phase 2: Clinching Destruction
With his foe disorientated, Jal takes hold of their head with his forearms. Pulling them close and striking their body with strong, explosive knees.
Phase 3: Rushing Meteor
With control firmly in his grasp, Jal begins to push his opponent toward the nearest obstacle. Smashing their body into it several times before jumping high and throwing them to the ground.
Phase 4: Crashing End
As their body meets the ground, Jal dives to meet his foe. Crashing his body into theirs, forcing them back to the ground before unleashing a final battery of punches and blows.
Blitz- Being taught by Sabin, Jal can use some of the Blitz techniques. But he constantly strives to create his own.
Track- Raised as a hunter and nomad he is greatly skilled at the art of tracking any type of man or beast.
Up Close- Preferring to be in the face of his opponent he has, as most martial artist, trained himself at finding the swiftest route.
Swift Kill- Jal's understanding of anatomy stems from his learning as a hunter. Needing to kill cleanly and be able to prep the kill for food, gave Jal a distinct advantage at finding weaknesses of his opponents.
Work Ethic- Determination and will-power drive the engines of Jal and he will never stop short of achieving a goal or overcoming a problem.
Weaknesses
Tech Not- Jal has never touched or experienced advanced machinery of any kind. (Meaning he can't use it, not that he doesn't recognize some of it)
Too Much Room- Jal's stubbornness toward his original ranged teaching forces him to gain ground before attacking. This puts him at a large disadvantage when forced to cover abnormally large distances.
Ignora-Magic- Though Blitz techniques can often be seen as magic and do utilize the inner strength of a person, they are not magic as the world knows round. And that type of magic is not what Jal does or could do.
Only Forward- Fighting hard to get your life accomplished can make some... stubborn. And Jal may be one of the royals of it. Jal does not retreat or back from his foe under his own power, by any means. He also becomes very annoyed at people who talk about the past.
Tunnel Vision- A side effect of his ability 'Work Ethic'; Jal very easily becomes absorbed into a set goal, which distracts him from other tasks and goals.
