Escape from Gaia

[Nao Uzuma]

Nao eyes bolted open as she sat up before looking around breathing heavily as she surveyed the room for any threat. She soon relaxed as she saw that no one was around then sighed as she rubbed her head "What happened?" She asked herself before she closed her eyes as she tried to remember and frowned as everything came back to her.

Nao frowned as she sat in her cell sadly, things had been started to grow odd in the last couple of hour. The shadows seemed longer and even with the minimum light in the area it seemed darker then usual and colder as well. Frowning she stood up rammed the cell door only to blink when it opened a small piece of paper falling from between the wall and the cell door. Picking it up she read it before scowling.

"Sorry"

Was written on it in her ex-friends hand writing. She crumpled the paper and threw it into the corner of the cell before running outside and began to make her way out of the building. She frowned to see that nobody was anywhere inside the building. She scowled as she headed outside smiling as she took a deep breath of fresh air, the first one she had in a long while. That when she saw a sight that shocked her into freezing. A small group of black creatures were crawling on a man one of them reached into his chest and pulled out a heart

She frowned as her memories cut off from there scowling she stood up deciding to see if there was anyone nearby.

[The Heartless Army]

The chippering squeaks of the heartless would sound off in all directions, as if the world around the girl was being taken over by shadows who lusted for hearts... she was not going to be safe.

Three small heartless noticed her, and scampered in her direction, wiggling about oddly, as if having seizures, though really, they were excited to have spotted a new heart! One of them charged first, and the other two followed!

Nao frowned as she shivered and rubbed her arms her eyes took in the whole area before frowning as she saw what almost looked like either sludge or possibly shadows moving towards her. She frowned as she backed away alarms going of in her mind saying something was wrong. She frowned before turning to run.

[The Heartless Army]

The critters would be hot on her trail, jumping excitedly, nearly at her heels as they tried to grasp at them, her being just a little bit quicker than the three young-lings! One of them attempted to jump on her back, while another continued to grab at her feet.

The third heartless grew tired, and he blended into the surrounding shadows to restore energy, as well as follow the prey.

Nao whirled around grabbing the shadow that had leapt at her and slammed it into the one that was grabbing at her feet before kicking them both away. She scowled "What I wouldn't do to have my sword right now." She growled annoyed with herself.

[The Heartless Army]

The two heartless that were slammed together let out a squiggle of a sound before disappearing, only to be replaced by two others-- admittedly the same ones, which morphed themselves back to existence using the shadows around them. They continued to chase this special heart around, knowing she would get tired, eventually.

Nao eyes widened before cursing as she watched the two shadows be replaced by two more. She scowled as she ran her eyes looking for something she could use as a weapon. Thats when she say a lead pipe lying on the ground. "That will have to do." She muttered as she rolled forward grabbing it then spinning around slamming the pipe into one of the monsters then turned her attention to the third kicking it away.

[The Heartless Army]

Suddenly there were two more creatures, a total of five would come after her. They had surrounded her, and would come from all sides!

The little antenna's would flail about, seeming frantic, but sending elaborate messages to bring forth the cavalry. It was then when Heartless Soldiers joined in, serving a better challenge for the pipe-wielder. They raised their hands, ready to defend the small masses.

Nao eyes widened as she saw that more stronger looking creatures appeared surrounding her. She began to curse as she realized that she was trapped. She was already tired as it was but with the new shadows things looked even darker for her. Growling she she closed her eyes in focus before they snapped open "Extreme speed." She whispered she rammed right through the shadows with her lead pipe as she blurred putting a distance between her and the creatures but it was useless she was now exhausted and unable to continue. She collapsed to her knees as she looked back at the creatures warily.

[The Heartless Army]

The creatures would look about confused, wondering where the threat went. They seemed a little slow on the uptake, and they bumped heads, thinking the girl was right infront of them. They held at her heads, confused, until one of the creatures pointed to the girl's location.

The five creatures got into charging position.

[Nao Uzuma]

She watched them warily lifting the lead pipe in a feeble attempt at protecting herself as she sighed wondering what all her training meant if she lost this easily to such a small group of creatures. Then again her pride was already battered so it didn't bug her as much as it would have. "Whatever happens, the only thing to regret is not being strong enough to protect those you care about." She muttered remembering her father's motto.

[glow=purple,2,800]The heartless charged forward to retrieve their heart, but the closer they got to the girl, the slower they became. Actually, everything around the girl began to slow down, until it seemed time stopped.

'tick, tock' echoed an unfamiliar voice to the girl, ' you should look for a sanctuary quickly...' the voice seemed to chuckle.

"Will you make it?" The voice seemed in front of her, but clearly, there was nothing there, but the stopped heartless. "Move quick!"

The heartless began to move to time again, growing quicker, and quicker in their charge. Time resumed normally after this strange event. [/glow]

Nao eyes widened as time slowed down and the voice spoke. Shaking her head she stood up and sighed as she got a second wind before rushing towards a small forest nearby her eyes wide as the tree branches scratched up her arms and face but she ignored it in the pursuit of a sanctuary.

in a back street of the town a corridor opened to reveal the so called 'were-heartless' she stepped out into the town of her youth.
"I don't believe it... I'm back here"
she paused and sheepishly spoke the words
"thank you... I guess"
whatever, were just happy to be off that piece of crap ship
the girl began to walk out into the open and as she spoke to her other half, she got a few weird looks.
"i guess your right... look I don't like this any more than you do, but we cant keep going on fighting like this"
why not, fighting is fun
"fine then! just forget it..."

Nao frowned as she entered the forest as she mentally berated herself the trees casted shadows which made it easy for the creatures chasing her easier to sneak up on her. she frowned before jumping and grabbing a low branch, pulling herself up she sighed before climbing higher into the tree hoping that it would allow her to escape the creatures.
